CMS stands for Content Management System is an online platform. CMS is a web content publishing and management system that allows normal content originators to create, submit, and publish their content directly within a web
application/site without any development tools or knowledge of HTML. CMS can be as simple as making changes to text and images on the website.
Content management systems are designed and built to enable website owners/business owners or employees to makes changes to websites without the need for technical knowledge. CMS platforms will often include what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) editors which as simple as typing content in Ms word.
CMSs are used by millions of websites as a way of reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Content management systems come in various forms including custom built applications as well as pre-built open source applications such as WordPress, joomla, drupal etc. CMS platforms remove the need for businesses to constantly contact web developers when changes are required. Changes to the website can be completed instantly and easily by any one.
